With mother’s day being celebrated over the weekend, it’s only fitting to look at a story about a mother’s love for her daughter that exceeds the normal standards of a mother-daughter relationship.
Jessica Watson, the child of Ruth and Edward Watson, had a kidney failure and to fully recover and survive she needed a kidney transplant.
Of course, without missing a heartbeat, Ruth decided to donate her kidney as it was the best match.
The operation was a success and Jessica returned to be a lively, bubbly child.
Ruth says that “She loves arts and crafts so she may make me something. I get spoiled loads. I get lots of kisses and cuddles.”
It’s stories like these that help make the world a little bit better, to see familial love and to hear about it around a day that celebrates mothers.
