Watch a Great Dane Grow from Puppy to Adult in Inspiring Time Lapse!

You probably didn't ask for these "feels", but you will receive them if you watch this heartbreaking video. Filmmaker, Dave Meinert decided to timelapse document the life of Pegasus, his adorable Great Dane rescue dog after receiving the heartbreaking news that the pup was not expected to live much longer. This was caused by the poor conditions of the puppy mill from which she spent his early life and also from a pigment deficiency. In the video, Meinert states, "most of her siblings died after birth or were deformed". Meinert was not certain how long Pegasus would live for, but he was certain that he could provide her with the best life possible.

In an interview with Fast Company Meinert said,  “rescuing her was a way for me to be sure she’d be looked after. For me, she had already been born – nothing was going to change that. By rescuing her, at least I could be certain that she wouldn’t be discarded.” 

Petcha.com highlighted the importance of Meinert's decision to create the timelapse, "the sad truth is that just because Pegasus has grown and looks healthy, it does not guarantee her a long life. Her pigment deficiency could lead to skin cancers and if she is blind or deaf there are numerous implicated dangers to her life.  But the fact is she is here now, and Meinert’s video can be a reminder about the importance of rescue".
